Export Contracts Worth $400,000 Signed With German Buyers

Given the export orientation of the Macedonian Vegetable Processing industry and its positive reputation among the food importers from the region and EU, USAID AgBiz Program, through its subcontractor the Macedonian Consulting Group (MCG), identified the need to organize buying mission of the German food importers in Macedonia. Therefore, from 21 – 24 November, 2011, seven Macedonian vegetable processing exporters, including Trgoprodukt, Rudine, Bonum Plus, Altra, Vori, Univerzal Promet and Lars hosted represenatives from the relevant German importers - Clama GmbH & Co.KG and Kattus&Fuchs Gewuerze.

In October 2011 representatives from eight Macedonian vegetable processing companies, members of the Macedonian Association of Processors (MAP), visited food fair - Anuga 2011 in Cologne, Germany. Macedonian agribusinesses make extensive use of seasonal labor due to the highly seasonal nature of their businesses. In accordance with the Law on Labor relations, the companies are legally obligated to register or terminate labor relations of their employees for the obligatory social insurance.
